Though Rhody quickly established himself in Nashville for his songwriting (Kevin Welch, Oak Ridge Boys, Del McCoury, Lorrie Morgan, George Jones, etc.) by the late eighties he returned to his folk roots concentrating on solo touring and writing on a more personal level.
